Project Details
In close collaboration with Redland City Council Architects during the planning stage, it was a joint effort to create an exciting new play space for users of all abilities and ages in the Thornlands area.
An innovative and bespoke playground design containing Marine Grade Equipment, this space creates expanded opportunities for children of all abilities, including concrete and rubber access paths to equipment. Sensory panels containing moving parts, vibrations and sounds to encourage vestibular function, cognitive and gross motor skills. The design provides a rich, inclusive play space where children of all abilities can grow and learn through physical, emotional, sensory, and social experiences, coupled with the ability to move throughout the play space safely and independently.
Featuring a Dry Creek Bed to mimic a natural stream, encourages social interaction and provides opportunities through dramatic and imaginative play for children to create ‘themes’ that are spontaneous, child-initiated and open-ended
